Correspondence of the 3rd and 4th Earls of Rosse with fellow astronomers, such as John Herschel, Thomas Romney Robinson, Sir Edward Sabine, George Johnstone Stoney, etc., and correspondence with others (such as Henry Fox Talbot and Thomas and Howard Grubb) about the construction of telescopes and the use of photographic techniques together with 'astronomical diaries' containing drawings of nebulae, observations, sketches of lunar features, etc.
